On Thursday, Oct. 4, the Tyler Street Business Group will host a welcome ceremony for 10 new businesses that have opened on Tyler Street this year. The event will be held 3-5 p.m. at the Berkshire Dream Center, 475 Tyler St.

Those ten businesses include:

  • Tyler and Pine
  • The Spot
  • Alltown
  • Best Cleaners
  • Partytime Rentals
  • No Loose Ends
  • The Morning Star (former St. Mary's)
  • Milltown Partners (formerly Apts R Us)
  • Consignment Shop
  • Community Lab (inside Goodwill)

Esther Bolen, of the Tyler Street Business Group, said the ceremony provides a space to officially recognize and celebrate those who support the area. The event will also mark the launch of the new branding for the Tyler Street TDI District.

The ceremony will feature speakers including Roberta McCulloch-Dews, Director of Administrative Services, Mayor’s Office; Peter White, City Councilor at-large; and Katelyn Miner, Dream Center Leader. Light refreshments will be served.

In September, the TDI district received additional funding from the state to continue its Storefront Improvement Enhancement Program, which was originally launched as a pilot program. The program supports the existing businesses and storefronts in the district with façade improvements to enhance visibility and attractiveness and ensure accessibility.
