Adams Man Pleads Guilty, Accepts 20-Year Sentence in Terror Plot

We had been alerted that a plea deal could be in place for an Adams man accused of plotting a terror attack along with other charges.

On Monday, Alexander Ciccolo pleaded guilty to all charges at the US Federal Court House in Springfield.

According to iBerkshires.com, Ciccolo admitted to supporting ISIS, planning a terror attack at an "unnamed" college outside of Massachusetts and illegally possessing firearms. In addition, he admitted to assaulting a nurse at the Franklin County Jail on his first night of incarceration, according to iBerkshires.

It was a 50-minute hearing before Judge Mark G. Mastroianni. The plea agreement between Ciccolo's lawyers and the US Attorney's Office would land the 25-year-old in prison for a 20-year sentence. He would also be under supervised release for the rest of his life, citing the US Attorney's Office in the report.

Official sentencing was set by for Sept. 5 at 2 p.m., at which point Judge Mastroianni will have the option to throw out the plea deal, according to iBerkshires.
