Chris Mazdzer has had quite a year. Unfortunately, the latest chapter of his story has come to an end Monday night -- although staring at the historic silver medal he earned in the Winter Olympics will take away the pain.

The Berkshires' born Mazdzer was eliminated from "Dancing With the Stars: Athletes" on  Monday night, along with figure skater Mirai Nagasu and softball legend Jennie Finch Daigle. Mazdzer, who was born at BMC in 1988, lived in Lenox and Lanesborough before heading to New York to begin his career as an Olympic luger.

After making the US Olympic luge team in 2010 and 2014, Mazdzer became Team USA’s first ever men’s singles Olympic luge medalist, capturing the silver medal in South Korea earlier this year. He was hoping to parlay that accomplishment into a DWTS trophy, but he wasn't able to get the votes. Mazdzer performed the foxtrot, which you can watch below, and picked up 33 out of a possible 40 points.

Tonya Harding, who finished with the same amount of points (33), was able to capture America's votes to move on to the finals in the abbreviated competition, along with figure skater Adam Rippon and NFL'er Josh Norman.
