In the United States, women, and some men (hey, it's 2018) spend billions of dollars a year on make up.  Even people who rarely wear make-up have that one tube of mascara, or that one lip stick they throw on for special occasions. Before you go out and spend money on your latest beauty pick, why not buy somethingthat gives back? Make up that gives back?! Yes, it's true.

Jane Iredale, a make up company that focuses on products that are actually good for your skin (brillant!) is based right here in The Berkshires. The company that distributes it's popular products all over the world, calls Great Barrington home.

In addition to being health conscious, the Iredale company has a social conscious as well. Supporting charitable organizations locally and nationally has always been important to the company's founder, which is why proceeds from selected products go right back to those in need.

For the past 10 years, Jane has created one product each year for which 100% of the profits are donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a nationwide organization that provides free beauty sessions to build the confidence of women with cancer. That product this year is Sunny PlayOn Lip Crayon that according to the company's website is a vivid, rosy pink shade that will brighten anyone’s day!

This year the make up guru has decided to expand the umbrella of charities receiving the profits from the lip crayon sales to include organizations local to The Berkshires. They include Berkshire Children and FamiliesGladys Allen Brigham Community CenterElizabeth Freeman Center and the Berkshire Humane Society.
