Louis C.K. returned to the stage with controversial new material, and the public isn't laughing.

In a 48-minute recording from C.K's Dec. 16 performance at Governor's Comedy Club in New York, which surfaced on YouTube on Sunday, the disgraced comedian made jokes about the survivors of the February shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The incident left 14 students and three school staff members dead.

"You're not interesting because you went to a high school where kids got shot," he said in the routine. "Why does that mean I have to listen to you? How does that make you interesting? You didn't get shot; you pushed some fat kid in the way! Now I gotta listen to you talking?"

That comment alone drew much backlash online. Jeremy Wein, a graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas and podcast host, took the comic, accused of sexual misconduct, on online. He also took aim at any comedy clubs in New York willing to welcome the 51-year-old to perform.

"17 people died at my high school, my friends brother watched his friends die in front of him f--- you Louis," he tweeted. "Seriously if you are a club in NYC still welcoming this POS into your room, f--- you too."

Fred Guttenberg, who lost a daughter in the shooting, added, "To anyone who knows Louis CK, please deliver this message for me. My daughter was killed in the Parkland shooting. My son ran from the bullets. My wife and I deal with loss everyday. Why don't you come to my house and try out your new pathetic jokes?"

"LouisCK [SIC] even trying for a comeback is crap, but him mocking the Parkland survivors is beyond despicable. There is no comedy there at all," a third Twitter user said.

Parkland wasn't the only controversial topic C.K. touched on during his stand-up set. He also took on gender identity, mocking gender non-conforming people.

"They tell you what to call them. 'You should address me as 'they,' 'them' because I identify as gender neutral,'" he said. "Oh, OK, OK. 'You should address me as 'there' because I identify as a location, and the location is your mother's c---."

"Imagine locking women u work with in a room to watch u masturbate and then thinking using gender neutral pronouns is a weird request," one critic tweeted.

Another said, "#LouisCK's new set apparently has a section attacking #nonbinary people. He thinks it's wrong to use 'they' as a singular pronoun. I, on the other hand, think it's wrong to sexually assault people."

"This hacky, unfunny, shallow routine is just a symptom of how people are afraid to feel empathy. It's much easier to laugh at our most vulnerable than to look at their pain directly & show them love and concern. Louis CK is all fear and bitterness now. He can't look inward," Judd Apatow tweeted.

C.K. hasn't responded to the backlash.
