An arrest has been made in Friday's hit-and-run in Adams that killed an 85-year-old pedestrian.

David Sookey, 61, of Adams was arrested Tuesday afternoon by the Adams Police Department according to District Attorney David Capeless in a press release.

Sookey was charged with one count of leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident  and one count of misleading, impeding and obstructing a police investigation in the death of Theresa Marby. Sookey was released personal recognizance and will be arraigned on those charges Wednesday morning in Northern Berkshire Superior Court.

According to Capeless, preliminary results of an autopsy conducted Marby indicate she died from blunt force trauma. Adams Police responded to a 911 call on Friday morning of a woman lying in the road on Dean St. at around 9:30 a.m. She was transported to the North Adams Campus of BMC and was pronounced dead a short time later.

A report from News 10 in Albany stated that Marby worked at the Adams McDonald's and  was involved in a veterans group to help make a difference in the community.
