Every year when the tax bill comes in, we hope to not see an increase. Levy ceilings, property value, we've heard it all over the last few years.

When Mayor Linda Tyer took office in January of 2016, the City of Pittsfield was in financial crisis. What followed was tight budgeting and those dreaded layoffs. However, Pittsfield may now be "emerging from that crisis".

Tyer joined Slater and Marjo on Monday morning (Oct. 29) and spoke of "good news ahead from the Mayor's Office as they finish up the work for setting the tax rate".

On Tuesday, November 13, the Pittsfield City Council will meet to finalize the fiscal '19 property tax rate. Listen below.
