On Friday, (Nov. 16), Superintendent for Pittsfield Public Schools, Dr. Jason McCandless, released a seven minute video addressing an uptick in student fighting within the local school system.

McCandless assures students and parents alike, that fighting, talk of fighting or talk of violence, simply will not be tolerated. Since the beginning of the school year, there have been nearly a dozen (physical) fights in Pittsfield schools.

Here in Pittsfield, we will not stand for hate, we will not stand for bias, we will not stand for racism or racist speech. -Dr. Jason McCandless

Students can potentially be suspended, moved into alternative programs, or legally charged with a crime, if necessary, for engaging in such behavior. View the full video below.
