A Pittsfield Public Schools official is on the very short list to become the new superintendent for Hampshire Regional School District.

According to an article on MassLive, Pittsfield Public Schools director of curriculum and instruction Judy Rush is one of two finalists for the position, along with Aaron Osborne of Palmer Public Schools.

According to Carl Schlerman, chairman of Hampshire's school board and of the search committee, there were 10 applicants.

The current Hampshire Regional School District Superintendent, Craig Jurgensen, will retire in June, which lead to the committee search. Rush and Osborne will interview on April 6 in the Hampshire Regional Middle and High School auditorium.

Hampshire Regional School District includes Chesterfield, Goshen, Southampton, Westhampton, Williamsburg, and Worthington.
