The City of Pittsfield has declared a snow emergency and on-street parking ban beginning midnight, Sunday, Jan. 20 through midnight Monday, Jan. 21.

Motorists are encouraged to stay off the roads during this time except for emergency situations in order to let plows clear the roadways. Vehicles parked on city streets must be removed to allow for plowing. The McKay Street garage will be open this weekend and residents may park in the garage for free until the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Please keep fire hydrants and sidewalks shoveled (particularly those that accommodate school children) accessible in case of emergencies.

The City of Pittsfield thanks you for your patience and please stay safe.
