According to the City of Pittsfield's Facebook page, a snow emergency has officially been declared for Thursday, January 4th, through 7 a.m. tomorrow.

The city is expected to receive six to eight inches of snow throughout the evening, therefore the City of Pittsfield has declared a snow emergency and on-street parking ban effective noon today through 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5.

Vehicles parked on city streets must be removed to allow for plowing. Parking restrictions for the McKay Street Garage are waived as both this garage and the first floor of the Columbus Avenue Garage are open and available for parking today. Regarding the McKay Street Garage, please do not park in reserved spaces.

Please keep fire hydrants and sidewalks shoveled and accessible in case of emergencies. Garbage pickup is still scheduled (any change to this schedule will be shared once available).

The City of Pittsfield thanks you for your patience today and please stay safe.
