It's October in The Berkshires and that means a lot of things, but one of my favorites is The Haddad Sock Game.

The social media sock game is back taking Berkshire County by storm, helping raise money for Shop with a Cop, a project organized by Pittsfield Police Officer Darren Derby. Shop with a Cop provides a fun filled day for children in need throughout the county, when they literally get to go shop with a cop, promoting and creating positive relationships with law enforcement. This unique December shopping experience assists children and can deter them from choosing a life of crime or violence.

So what does this all have to do with socks? Throughout the month of Socktober people are encouraged to throw on their most creative, funniest, most colorful or just their favorite socks, snap a picture and post it on social media with the hashtag #haddadsockgame.  For every properly hashtagged picture, The Haddad Dealerships will donate a dollar to Shop with a Cop. Post as many as you'd like, just make sure you remember the hashtag!

Don't forget that Blue Q, located right here in Pittsfield, always has funny and one of a kind socks to pick from if you think you're lacking in the funky sock department.  The Berkshire General Store in Downtown Pittsfield has a ton to pick from and if you buy them there you'll be supporting two local businesses and this great cause.

Check out this awesome video that The Haddad Dealerships put together, displaying some awesome socks from some past October's, or as they like to call it SOCKTOBER.
