Road Milling In Pittsfield To Start This Week

As promised, milling and paving of a number of streets in the city of Pittsfield is about to be underway. A sign illuminating "Milling of Pecks Rd. Starting This Week" can be seen on the corner of Highland Ave and Pecks Rd.

Road resurfacing is always a hot topic in any city. With Pittsfield littered with potholes (now mostly filled) this winter, city residents will soon start to witness a ton of milling and paving around town.

Mill & Pave – Grind off existing 1 ½” of top course blacktop. Adjust/rebuild structures (manholes, catch basins, gate valves) as necessary. Re-pave with 1 ½” of top course blacktop.

The following, from cityofpittsfield.org, is a list of city roads to be milled and paved this summer. Please note that the entirety of following roads may not be completely resurfaced.
