According to a press release from the Berkshire District Attorney's Office, two people faced drug and illegal firearms charges in unrelated cases in Berkshire Superior District Court yesterday, Feb 12.

Isaiah J. Calderon, 22, of Holyoke, was arraigned on the charges of illegal possession of a firearm, a second offense, illegal possession of heroin with intent to distribute, armed career felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The charges stem from a traffic stop that Pittsfield police officers made on Nov. 10. Berkshire Assistant District Attorney Kyle Christensen prosecuted the case.  Calderon was held on $10,000 bail. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for May 7.

Arraigned in a separate case on Tuesday was Kacey Caprari, 38, of North Adams. She was charged with trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm, rifle or shotgun, and possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card.

Police arrested Caprari on Jan. 18 while executing a search of a home in North Adams. On Tuesday, she was ordered held on $15,000 bail. Assistant District Attorney Jedd L. Hall prosecuted the case. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for June 20.
