I may be 35 years old, but when it comes to getting in the pool, I am a child and proud of it.

Swimming is incredible for your health. When you are using it for exercise, it is definitely difficult. I enjoy a good swim as much as the next person. But when I have the chance to get in the pool, I'm doing the handstands and I am trying to create a typhoon-like splash every single time I jump in.

With the weather getting warmer, and my 5-year-old son enjoying the pool much more this year, 2018 will be the year to get my cannonballs, and other countless gimmick pool jumps, back up to par.

When I think classic cannonballs, I have to go to a classic film -- The Sandlot. We all know Hamilton "Ham" Porter from the film, played by Patrick Renna. One of them more memorable scenes in the movie was when The Sandlot kids hit the pool on that very hot day. "Ham's" cannonball had the ladies that were lounging around scurrying for dryer areas.

It's my first attempt of the year, so where do I stand? Who did it better -- me, or "Ham"?
