Ashuwillticook Trail Extension Construction Progressing Nicely

The goal of the beloved Ashuwillticook Rail Trail is to eventually extend county-wide; into Connecticut and Vermont is the goal. However, that could take another decade according to Park, Open Space and Natural Resource Program Manager for Pittsfield, Jim McGrath.

McGrath spoke with Slater and Marjo on Friday morning about the rail trail's latest progress.

Slater: This will be the first time the trail actually is within Pittsfield city limits, correct?

Slater: When will the extension be open for use?

Slater: Where will the beginning of the trail be visibly obvious to residents?

Slater: Any changes at the Mall Rd. entrance to accommodate heavier trail traffic?

Stacker used data from the 2020 County Health Rankings to rank every state's average life expectancy from lowest to highest. The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
