The appetite for live music is back, and The Hotshot Hillbillies proved that during Wednesday evening's performance at the "Live On The Lake" concert series.

Whiskey City's show last Wednesday was canceled due to heavy rain, and with no rain in the forecast for The Hotshot Hillbillies, the crowd gathered early. Except...IT DID RAIN, but not for long. Yes, right around 5:15 ish, the skies opened up and it poured for about 15 minutes, but the crowd remained tenacious.

The band opened up with a cover of The Traveling Wilburys' 1988 hit "Handle With Care", and then flowed a steady stream of familiar hits. Country, rock, folk, and some pop emanated from the city stage at Onota Lake.

Due to come remaining COVID-19 protocols, we are not playing cornhole or enjoying a bouncy house this year, but the boats were ashore, folks were swimming, and people were dancing on land.

The line for "Live On The Lake" vendor mainstay Krispy Cones was long as Smokey Diva's BBQ served up some brisket burgers, so popular, in fact, that they ran out.

The CHP mobile health unit was there as well giving attendees COVID-19 vaccines if they opted.

The 19th annual "Live On The Lake" concert series is made possible by Live 95.9 and Greylock Federal Credit Union with some help from The Haddad Dealerships.

The Hotshot Hillbillies are:

WENDY WALZ, vocal and guitar.

JIM DIGNAM, vocal and guitar.

BILL O'CONNOR, bass and vocal.

MIKE BASILIERE, drums.
