One of the most popular museums in Massachusetts, just an hour drive from Berkshire County, is opening it's doors to the public free of charge.

This Friday, July 12, Springfield Museums, including The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss will welcome guests free of admission, thanks to the Free Fun Friday initiative,  the brainchild of the Highland Street Foundation, which offers free admission to over 50 different cultural venues throughout Massachusetts, Fridays in July and August.

The free tickets are available first come first serve at the admissions desk in the Welcome Center on July 12 and advance ticketing is not available. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the Welcome Center opening at 9:30.

As all tickets for the Springfield Museums, your Free Fun Friday pass includes entry to the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, The Springfield Science Museum and three other museums under the Springfield umbrella in addition to The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss.

In addition to the different galleries there will also be shows from Malik the Magic Guy from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. perfect for family audiences, The Roaming Railroad, a trackless train that entertains riders with comedy, songs and routines and variety of other activities including puppet shows, bubble parties and more.
