September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, and to celebrate, the Berkshire Athenaeum in conjunction with the Berkshire Athenaeum and local Pittsfield businesses, are participating in the “Show us your library card, Pittsfield!” campaign.

Alex Geller (Berkshire Athenaeum) and Cheryl Mirer (Pittsfield Downtown Inc.) joined Slater and Marjo In The Morning on Friday to announce the promotion.

For the month of September, residents will be able to access discounts, prizes, and/or freebies on meals and purchases when they show their library card at checkout. A list of participating businesses is available here.

Don't have a library card yet? Stop by the library with a photo ID and proof of current address.

At the athenaeum, patrons gain free access to STEAM programs and story times, gardening workshops and hiking backpacks, 3D printers and telescopes, genealogy resources and museum passes, as well as books, movies, music, and more.

For more information about participating businesses, please contact Cheryl Mirer, Executive Director, Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. at 413-443-6501 or for library-related information, Alex Geller, Outreach Librarian, can be at 413-499-9480, Ext. 202.
