3 Injured In Head On Crash In New Ashford

A section of Rte. 7 in New Ashford was closed for about an hour on Thursday as crews from Williamstown, New Ashford, and Lanesborough responded to a motor vehicle crash.

According to Lanesborough Fire Chief, Charlie Durfee, at about 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, two vehicles collided head on near Mallory Rd. on Rte 7 in New Ashford.

Crews worked for about thirty minutes to extricate two people trapped in an SUV.

All three people involved in the crash were transported to BMC, two being listed as in serious but not critical condition.

Little else is known at this time as Massachusetts State Police are investigating the crash.
