6 Arrested in Pittsfield Drug Bust
The Pittsfield Police Department announced the arrest of six people during a drug bust on Wednesday morning.
At approximately 10:20 a.m., members of the PPD, Berkshire County Task Force and Berkshire County Special Response Team executed simultaneous warrants at two Pittsfield locations -- 362 Columbus Avenue and 208 Linden Street.
According to a release, officers discovered a "large amount of individual bags of heroin, loose powder heroin, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and cocaine distribution paraphernalia and $8,700 in cash."
The estimated street value of the drugs ranges between $34,000 to $50,000.
Pittsfield Police officials confirmed the arrests of six individuals. Shaina Sayers, 30, of Pittsfield, was arrested for trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin and two counts of conspiracy to violate drug laws. Also, 32-year-old Melissa Daniels of Pittsfield was arrested for trafficking in heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
The longest list of charges belong to 23-year-old Jacob Ferry, also of Pittsfield, who was arrested for trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in heroin, possessing a firearm without an FID card, possessing a firearm in the commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
Three juveniles, whose names have been withheld, were also arrested. All three will face charges of trafficking in heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws. One of the juveniles, in addition, will face charges of possessing a firearm in the commission of a felony and illegal possession of a firearm.
The arrested juveniles were arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Central Berkshire Superior Court, while Sayers, Daniels and Ferry will all be arraigned Thursday in Central Berkshire District Court.
According to the Pittsfield Police, additional charges are pending on all arrested individuals.
