With chilly temperatures right around the corner, Berkshire Community Action Council's Warm Clothing Program is back and ready to roll. The Berkshire County nonprofit is enrolling families who could use a hand with winter clothes this year until Thursday, October 31.
Each year, the Warm Clothing Program serves over 2,000 Berkshire children and their families. The key component that drives this unfunded program is the community support and spirit of collaboration that comes together around BCAC at this time.  The program would not be possible without generous community volunteers, individual family sponsors, and the support of Berkshire Community.
Applications can be filled out in Pittsfield at 1531 East St. or 85 Main St. Suite 201 North Adams, Monday through Friday between 9:30 – 11:30 and 1 - 3:30 pm.  The program is available for children up to Age 12.
In addition to taking applications, BCAC Elves will be at the Colonial Theatre this weekend for performances of Willy Wonka (Saturday at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.) collecting donations of new coats, new boots and new warm clothing.  They will also be accepting monetary donations as well as providing people with sponsor tags which including information on sponsoring a Berkshire County child with winter clothes.
For more information about enrolling in the program or donations and volunteering contact Melissa in Pittsfield at (413) 418-3668 or Aleta in North Adams st (413) 663-3014.
