Every Wednesday at 8:30 we're joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.

This week's Pets of the Week are Stubby and Coco an adorable pair of male Guinea pigs who have been at Berkshire Humane Society for two months. Stubby is tan and white, while Coco is dark brown and white. Both boys are three years old and were surrendered because their owner was moving and now it's time for these friendly boys to move on to a new home.

Stubby and Coco are a bonded pair so will need to be adopted out together. Berkshire Humane Society's small animal staff can answer any questions you have about caring for Guinea pigs, which can be a great alternative to more traditional pets for many households.

If you are interested in meeting Coco and Stubby, please call 413-447-7878, extension 124.

LOOK: Here are the pets banned in each state

Because the regulation of exotic animals is left to states, some organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States, advocate for federal, standardized legislation that would ban owning large cats, bears, primates, and large poisonous snakes as pets.

Read on to see which pets are banned in your home state, as well as across the nation.
