2 Berkshire County Ice Cream Spots Make Mass. ‘Best Of’ List
It's officially summertime in The Berkshires and if you're looking for an excuse to treat yourself to some ice cream, we have some great locations up and down the county. In fact, I was just at Krispy Cones in Lanesborough inhaling an Oreo Blizzard over the weekend. So good.
2 Berkshire County Ice Cream Spots Make Mass. 'Best Of' List
Nick O'Malley from the Massachusetts news website Masslive.com, just spent hours and hours traveling all over Massachusetts visiting ice cream spots, trying different flavors and unique offerings. He subsequently compiled a list of his top 30.
Within that list of the 30 best ice cream spots in the state are two located in Berkshire County!
#15 of 30 - High Lawn Farm in Lee
Located at 535 Summer St. in Lee is High Lawn Farm - some of the creamiest ice cream you will ever eat. Truly delicious. Boasting 16% fat from real, fresh Jersey (cow) milk with the "least amount of air possible" - this is what makes High Lawn's ice cream so creamy.
High Lawn Farm can go cone-for-cone with anyone in Massachusetts, and let’s you get up close with some adorable cows in the process.
#4 of 30 - SoCo in Great Barrington
The other ice cream spot to make the list was SoCo in Great Barrington on Railroad St. This family owned micro-creamery offers premium ice cream, sorbet, and gelato. SoCo gets their dairy from a family run farm in Vermont and are constantly being awarded recognition!
SoCo has been quietly churning out some of the state’s best ice cream for over 20 years. It’s wild to see how they can make simple chocolate and strawberry flavors pop.
