Blades the lovable Boston Bruin's mascot, was the star of the show at The Berkshire Athenaeum Tuesday, and not even Massachusetts First Lady Lauren Baker could steal his spotlight. Mrs. Baker read to the children while staff held coloring, trivia, and cornhole games.

According to iBerkshires.com, the pair wasn't just there for fun and games, the appearance was to collect pajama's donated for children in the care of The Department of Children and Families. Through a program founded by former Bruins Forward P.J. Axelsson and his wife Siw, in association with the Boston Bruins and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, the program which has been active since 2007, had a goal of collecting 15,000 pairs of PJ's statewide.

Samantha Cesario, the library's children's and youth services supervisor, said all of the donations collected stay local. The library is accepting donations until March 15 and those looking to donate new pairs of pajamas can bring them to either the children's or adult sections.
