Paratransit Management of the Berkshires which runs the BRTA bus service, and the Teamsters Local 404 have come to a tentative agreement, avoiding a strike.

Bus service would have been interrupted on Thursday if the two sides, who get along for the most part, hadn't come to an agreement.

The union also represents about 35 fixed-route employees, including drivers, mechanics and maintenance workers, so a strike would affect all of BRTA service.

According to berkshireeagle.com, an agent for the union, Victor Santiago says that the two sides get along well, and that they disagree on just a few issues and they're not personal.
