Since turning 40 back in August of 2020, I feel like I'm sort of on the "back nine" of life and I can't seem to get past it  😂. Marjo and I were talking about all the seniors that will be graduating this year and how I put on my cap and gown 24 years ago!

I started in radio in 1998 after high school and have played a million songs on the radio since then, so I thought I'd make a list of songs that are now, if you can believe it, twenty years old.

1. NELLY "HOT IN HERRE"

After "Country Grammar" and "E.I." hit big in 2000, he was just getting started.

2. PUDDLE OF MUDD "BLURRY"

I interviewed Wes Scantlin once, I had no idea what I was doing. This guy has had his ups and downs, but this song was undeniably huge.

3. AVRIL LAVIGNE "COMPLICATED"

The worst lyrics ever, but this Canadian punk pop star was big. Lavigne had a pretty hellish fight with lyme disease in the 2010's but is doing better now.

4. NO DOUBT "HELLA GOOD"

A departure from their original sound and people loved it.

5. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE "ROCK YOUR BODY"

He was out of NSYNC on his own now and teaming up with The Neptunes on this song, BIG!

7. NICKELBACK "HOW YOU REMIND ME"

Looking like the cowardly lion a bit, these guys were laughing all the way to the bank. This was the biggest hit of '02.

8. EMINEM "WITHOUT ME"

Boasting 1.4B views on YouTube, it was kinda boring without Eminem in 2002.

9. LINKIN PARK "IN THE END"

I don't think the world was ready for this band's dominance.

10. CRAIG DAVID "7 DAYS"

Great song. A jam!

11. VANESSA CARLTON "A THOUSAND MILES"

Everyone was singing this is in 2002. If you've seen "White Chicks" you know what I mean.

12. JIMMY EAT WORLD "THE MIDDLE"

These guys got a rough start after their album "Bleed American" was released right after 9/11 and was pulled from radio, but this song was HUGE for them.

13. NELLY f/KELLY ROWLAND "DILEMMA"

It was hard not to hear this one everywhere.

14. QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE "NO ONE KNOWS"

Featuring the Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on drums, this tune was awesome, definitely their biggest hit.

15. MISSY ELLIOT "WORK IT"

She was back in '02, weight loss and all! Featuring some nice backward vocals, this song was massive.
