Cardi B Is Confident She Can Take Your Favorite Rapper’s Flow and Body It
Cardi mania is at an all-time high, and understandably, Cardi B herself appears to be buying into the hype. At a recent concert, the Bronx rapper shot back at haters saying she stole Kodak Black's "No Flockin" flow for her platinum-selling hit, "Bodak Yellow." Being that denial wasn't really an option—and that her song title is an obvious reference to the Florida rapper—Bardi didn't even attempt to do so. Instead, she clapped back by saying she'll take your favorite rapper's flow again—and body it.
“And for anybody that telling me, ’Oh bitch, you copied Kodak flow, you copied this and that flow.’ So what bitch? So what? I’ma sound like all your favorite rappers," Cardi barked to the audience. "I’ma take all they flows and I’ma body it bitch. One day I’ma sound like Kodak, the next day I’ma sound like Meek Mill, the next day I’ma sound like Migos. I don’t give a fuck,” she continued.
Cardi B had been on her way to a solid rap career before "Bodak Yellow," but ever since the song dropped, her ceiling has seemingly raised considerably. A little over a week ago, Bardi's hit single usurped Taylor Swift's new single, "Look What You Made Me Do " to take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
For her part, Swift was gracious upon learning of Cardi taking her spot, sending the ascendant rapper flowers to commemorate her accomplishment. Bardi posted an image of the flowers on her Instagram account, along with a thank you. She was also congratulated by plenty of women in hip-hop, including Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma and Missy Elliott.
