According to The Berkshire Eagle, Pittsfield resident, 33 year old Joseph Barnes, was sentenced in relation to a March 2018 drug raid.

Barnes was sentenced recently to two years in jail after pleading guilty to a narcotics charge, after appearing before Judge Mark Mason in Berkshire Superior Court and admitted to a subsequent offense of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

The Berkshire County District Attorney's office had asked the judge to consider a sentencing recommendation of three to four years in state prison.

On March 9 2018, Pittsfield Police and officers assigned to the Berkshire County Special Response Team executed a search warrant at 76 Lincoln St. and arrested Marcelle King, Jayce Jones and Barnes according to The Eagle.

Barnes will serve his sentence at the Berkshire Jail and House of Correction and was given credit for one day of time already served in custody.
