If you are looking for a fun activity for the whole family during Memorial Day weekend, the City of Pittsfield is hosting a free community bike ride.

The ride, which is being put together by the Pittsfield Parks & Recreation Department, will take place on Saturday, May 26 and will begin at the Controy Pavilion on Onota Lake at Burbank Park. Bikers can enjoy a scenic trip from the lake to Pittsfield State Forest and back, which will be a little under six miles for the round trip.

This will be a kid friendly trip and there will be an obstacle course available before and after the ride. Also, there will be a police escort and on-site bike maintenance provided by Berkshire Bike and Board.

Take in the sights, spend time with the family and get a little workout in before hitting up those Memorial Day weekend shindigs. For more information, you can check out the event's Facebook page.
