Tuesday afternoon at approximately 12:20 p.m., the Pittsfield Police Dept., Pittsfield Fire Dept. and County Ambulance responded to the intersection of First St. and Maplewood Ave for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injury involving a Pittsfield Public School Bus.

A 2007 Honda Accord operated by a Ms. Bridget Howe, 87, of Pittsfield, was traveling north bound on First St. approaching the intersection with Maplewood Ave when she collided into the side of the 2015 Thomas school bus operated by Ms. Leslie Pocorobba, 67, of Pittsfield. The bus was proceeding west bound on Maplewood Ave.

As a result of the crash, Ms. Howe suffered what appeared to be minor injuries and was transported to BMC where she was admitted to the emergency department.

The city school bus was occupied by Ms. Pocorobba, a staff member, as well as two children under the age of 4. No injuries were sustained by any of the occupants of the school bus.

First St was closed from Hamlin St to Lincoln St for approximately 30 minutes until all emergency and crash vehicles were removed from the roadway.
