Berkshire Humane Society Pet of the Week: Meet Sapphire
Every Wednesday at 8:30 we're joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.
This week's Pet of the Week is Sapphire. This beautiful 11-month-old girl is a sweet and active youngster looking for a family to call her own. If you’re the adventurous type, she is the dog for you.
Sapphire loves all things outdoorsy and active, and she would love a home with someone who will take her hiking, jogging, and on long walks. Sapphire didn’t have the best start to her young life, so she has been working on her basic manners, and she’ll need continued work with this in her new home. When she gets excited, she tends to be jumpy and mouthy, but the kennel staff has been working with her on this and she has made great progress.
Due to her overexuberance, Sapphire would do best in a home with adults only. When meeting new people, she tends to be nervous and does submissively urinate a bit, but has never met a person she didn’t love. Sapphire could potentially live with another male dog (no females please) following a successful dog introduction. She has been doing great on her house training here at the shelter with only minimal accidents.
Sapphire can’t live with cats or small animals as she does have a high prey drive. If you think that she could be a good fit for you and your family, please reach out to Berkshire Humane Society’s kennel staff at (413)-447-7878 ext. 126 or stop by the shelter to speak with kennel staff to meet her.
