Early Morning Fire In Pittsfield

Pittsfield firefighters responded to 199 Pine Grove Dr. early Monday morning (Oct. 29) for report of a chimney fire.

When firefighters on B group arrived on scene at approximately 3:06 a.m., smoldering fire had extended into the attic. Minimal water was used; however, firefighters remained on scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

Engines 6, 3, and 2, Truck 2, and Car 2 responded and was the first structure fire for two of Pittsfield's newest recruits that just graduated Friday from training.

The Pittsfield Fire Investigation Unit was called to determine the cause of the fire and no injuries were reported.
