Father of Victims Attacks Larry Nassar in Courtroom (Video)
On Friday morning, Larry Nassar, the sports doctor who received a sentence of 40 to 175 years in prison for the sexual assault of several gymnasts, and other young women, was attacked in a Michigan courtroom.
Randall Margraves, the father of three of the victims, was stopped just before getting to Nassar by officers in the courtroom. Margraves was given the opportunity to speak in court and used that time to ask the judge for "five minutes alone in a locked room" with Nassar, who Margraves referred to as "a demon", as part of the sentencing.
After being denied his request, Margraves asked for one minute alone with Nassar and was, again, not granted his request. The, understandably, angry father attempted to take matters into his own hands, as shown in this video from CBS News on Twitter.

Margraves was escorted from the courtroom in handcuffs following the attack. As he was being lead out, Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis asked families to not use violence, but use words instead.
"This is letting him have this power over us," she said (h/t CBS News). "We cannot behave like this. I understand this is a remarkable situation. But you cannot do this. This is not helping your children. This is not helping your community. This is not helping us."
As a father myself, my heart goes out to Margraves, the victims, and everyone who has been impacted by this horrible situation.
