I had a chance to speak with Steve Alger over at Thermo Expert in Pittsfield whose granddaughter plays for the Berkshire Force and wanted me to spread the word.

The 12 U girls softball team is heading to the World Series in Florida at the end of July and they need to raise some money!

There will be a car wash on Saturday June 4 from 1-3 p.m. at the Advance Auto Parts on Merrill Rd. in Pittsfield.

In the past, Berkshire Force has gone to the World Series and as you may know it takes a lot of money a player to make it work, so they hope to see you all there!

In other local sports news, a big CONGRATULATIONS to the Mt. Greylock Mounties for winning the Western Mass. Finals with a 10-0 victory over Frontier in Springfield on Wednesday.

The players received a police and fire escort home last night. WELL DONE!
