North Adams Chinese Restaurant Makes ‘Best of Western Mass.’ List
Golden Bamboo in North Adams just made a list that food travelers are passing around.
A list of the "11 Western Massachusetts Chinese Restaurants Locals Can't Stop Going Back To" was recently issued by takingthekids.com, and The Berkshires is represented!
Most of the picks sit down in Amherst, Northampton, and Springfield. Golden Bamboo is the only local spot that made it.
The restaurant is at 41 Main Street. It opened in April 2025 in the old Meng's Pan Asian space. Folks who remember that corner already know the block. It is an easy walk from downtown, and it sits a short ride from MASS MoCA.
Golden Bamboo in North Adams comes in at number 11!
The menu is bigger than plain takeout Chinese. You can get sushi and sashimi, pad Thai, Thai curry, lo mein, fried rice, teriyaki, and the usual combo plates. The kitchen says the dishes and sauces are made from scratch with fresh vegetables, meats, and seafood. That is the detail the travel story pointed to. It is also what the restaurant says on its own site.
Hours listed right now are Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday run until 10. Sunday goes back to 9:30. Mondays are closed. Times can change, so check before you drive over. The phone number is (413) 664-9388. Online orders go through goldenbamboona.com.
North Adams already draws people for art and those spectacular mountain views. A warm meal on Main Street is a simple way to end the day. Golden Bamboo getting named on a Western Massachusetts list is a small win for a small city, and a good excuse to try a place some locals already know!
