Most People Don’t Know You Can Take $2,500 Out of a Greylock ATM
After I posted about the video teller option at Greylock Federal Credit Union, I got to thinking about something else worth mentioning for anyone who banks there.
Most of us have run into that frustrating wall at an ATM. You need more cash than usual and the machine cuts you off at $400. You either have to make a second trip, find a branch that is open, or just go without. It is one of those small inconveniences that adds up over time.
Here is something a lot of Greylock members may not realize. When you use the video teller option at the ATM, you are not stuck with that $400 limit. You can actually withdraw up to $2,500 in a single transaction.
West Street manager Crystal Garneau joined us on air on Wednesday morning to discuss that with the video teller option, you can request up to a $2500 withdrawal, including larger bills ($50).
Please note that this service is only available at ATMs when the video teller is working (usually until 6pm).
Think about the situations where that matters. Maybe you are making a large cash purchase. Maybe you are heading into a weekend and need more on hand than usual. Maybe you just want to avoid multiple trips to the bank. Whatever the reason, having access to that much more cash in one stop is genuinely useful.
And again, the process is simple. You tap the video teller button at the ATM, connect with a live Greylock employee on screen, tell them what you need, and handle it right there. No waiting in line for a teller inside. No scheduling anything in advance.
If you have been banking with Greylock for years and did not know this was an option, you are not alone. But now you do.
Pass this one along to anyone else who banks there. It is the kind of thing people are glad to find out about.
