Greylock Federal Credit Union Now Has Video Tellers at Their ATMs
If you bank at Greylock Federal Credit Union, there is something at the ATM you may not have noticed yet - and it could save you a lot of time waiting in line.
I found out about it firsthand at the West Street branch in Pittsfield today. I was standing at the back of a pretty long line waiting for an in-person teller when Greylock employee Crystal Garneau came out and asked if anyone wanted to try the video teller option built right into the ATM. Since I was last in line and had a transfer to make that I could not do online, I figured why not.
I am glad I did.
Here is how it works. You walk up to the ATM and tap the video teller button. A live Greylock employee appears on the screen and you have a real conversation with them, just like you would at the counter. The number pad is right there if you need to enter anything. When your transaction is done, your receipt prints right out of the machine.
That is it. Start to finish, the whole thing was simple and fast.
For anything you would normally need a teller for, this gets the job done without the wait. Transfers, account questions, things you cannot handle through the app or regular ATM - the video teller covers it.
Next time you are at a Greylock branch and see a line forming, check the ATM first. The video teller option is right there waiting for you, and based on my experience today, it is well worth trying.
Shoutout to Crystal for taking the time to walk customers through it. That kind of personal touch goes a long way.
