In attendance for the groundbreaking were town officials from St. Albans, 9 representatives from Subaru of New England, and business leaders from local organizations that have been instrumental in making the new dealership a reality.

The state-of-the-art Subaru dealership will be centrally located in the town of St. Albans on route 7, directly across from Walmart. There is a major need for a Subaru dealership in the area. Many residents currently must drive 30-40 minutes to service their Subarus.

George L. Haddad, President is the President of Haddad Auto Group. The group which started from a small used car lot in 1932, currently consists of Haddad Toyota, Haddad Subaru, Haddad Hyundai, and Haddad Nissan in Pittsfield, MA.

Haddad is an alum of St. Michaels College in Colchester, Vermont. Haddad stated that “I had always hoped I would be able to open a dealership close to my alma mater. I love the area. It is like the Berkshires in a lot of ways, it is a really special place.” Subaru of New England had many dealers want to open in St. Albans but they selected Haddad’s because of their stellar reputation and commitment to the brand. The fact that Haddad had ties to the St. Albans area solidified to Subaru of New England that he was the right choice.

Haddad is very excited to continue his partnership with Subaru of New England. “Subaru of New England is a distributorship of Subaru of America. This gives them a unique way of doing business that is really personal. They know the area and they know their dealerships. They really invest back into the community.”

Hiring for the new dealership will begin later this summer. For additional questions please email
