On Friday night, Live 95.9 presented "Larger Than Life: The Ultimate Boy Band Tribute" at the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. The show accomplished exactly what I thought it would; those who were in attendance had a blast, while those who weren't wished they would've been.

At least, that's what I have been hearing constantly since Friday night.

The show was a lot of fun. The four gentlemen that made up the group really took everyone back to a time when the boy band era was at its peak. With songs by New Kids on the Block, Bell Biv Devoe, N'Sync, the Backstreet Boys, the Colonial Theatre was rocking in nostalgia. For the couples out there, they even slowed it down with hits from O-Town, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees and others. There were even some jams mixed in by Britney Spears and the Spice Girls.

For the audience members who grew up with the boy bands of the 60's and 70's, they were covered as well with a medley featuring songs by The Four Tops, The Beatles, The Monkees and Jackson 5. The band even captured the sounds of today's music with DNCE's "Cake By The Ocean", Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" and Niall Horan's "Slow Hands".

All in all, my wife, myself and my teenage sister-in-law -- along with the rest of the audience from the front row to the very top of the theatre, were singing and dancing all night long. I thought the show -- regardless of my affiliation with it -- was a fantastic time on a Friday night in the Berkshires. We have put on many shows since my arrival at Live 95.9, and, while they were all fantastic in their own way, Larger Than Life makes the short list of groups and bands what we absolutely have to bring back again.

We want to thank the Giant Haddad Dealerships for sponsoring the show and to all of you incredible listeners who attended the show and enjoyed it so much. What will the next show we bring to the Colonial Theatre? We're always open to suggestions, but rest assured, it will be a good one!
