Summer is unofficially over, so that means the holidays are just around the corner, right?! Seriously though....I HATE that. Halloween cards are out in August, and as soon as they're gone we'll be on to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

While I personally would love to just enjoy Autumn in The Berkshires, the upcoming holiday season does take some planning in advance, like planning the production of The Nutcracker. A holiday tradition in The Berkshires, the ballet takes place every year at The Colonial Theatre in Downtown Pittsfield and features various casts full of local dancers.  If your child is interested in participating this year, it's time to start planning.

The Albany Berkshire Ballet coordinates and produces the show every year and includes more than 600 young students. Those students will have the opportunity to dance alongside the company’s professional dancers as they perform the holiday classic to more than 9,000 audience members.

Berkshire County auditions will be held on Sunday, September 16 at Cantarella School of Dance, 116 Fenn Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
