High winds plagued the Northeast last night leaving many Berkshire County residents without power.

According to outage maps from local utility companies, as of 7 o'clock this morning,  more than 600 homes across the county were without electricity. Strong wind gusts knocked down tree limbs and damaged power lines around the area.

A wind chill advisory and high wind gust warning are in effect until this afternoon and gusts overnight hit 50 miles per hour in some part of The Berkshires.

A high wind advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m, this afternoon. Northwest winds are expected around 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
