By now, most Pittsfielders know that Chipotle will soon occupy the existing Taco Bell location in Berkshire Crossing when they move across the street into their brand new building later this year.

It has been rumored for some time now that Chipotle, which operates over 2600 locations worldwide, was going to set up shop in Pittsfield. Love 'em or hate 'em, Chipotle is successful, and so is Hot Harry's.

Hot Harry's has locations on North St. and Tyler St. in Pittsfield, plus Main St. in Dalton.

On Friday, I put a post up asking the Live 95.9 listeners who they prefer their burritos and tacos from, and the results are in...

48% OF RESPONDENTS SAY THEY PREFER HOT HARRY'S

41% OF RESPONDENTS SAY THEY PREFER CHIPOTLE.

11% OF RESPONDENTS SAY THEY LIKE BOTH.

The point of this post is to sort of address the thread that followed after the poll was posted to our Facebook page.

Originally, I assumed that this would be a fun little survey to create some on-air fodder; however, it backfired, and I was accused of "pitting local restaurants against each other".

I assure you, my intent was to have a lighthearted discussion, but I'm not surprised it turned into an onslaught of negativity.

I will not, however, sit here and claim to be ignorant given the climate of our local restaurants and their continuing struggle to find help and remain open.

If you found the poll to be in poor taste, I apologize.
