The Tyler Street, Pittsfield location of the popular pizzeria Hot Tomatoes, announced today via Facebook that they have decided to close their Pittsfield location.

The statement reads:

SADLY, HOT TOMATOES PITTSFIELD IS CLOSED FOR BUSINESS

TO ALL OF OUR DEVOTED CUSTOMERS,

HOT TOMATOES THANKS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU FOR AN AWESOME 12 YEARS.

IT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS AND RESERVATIONS
TO MAKE THIS DIFFICULT DECISION TO CLOSE UP SHOP,
BUT THAT WE MUST.

COVID HAS MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR STAFFING REASONS TO REMAIN OPEN.

On June, 24 of this year, the eatery announced that due to COVID-19 their hours would be changing and closed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Hot Tomatoes Pittsfield follows a small group of other popular Pittsfield restaurants who announced their closure recently, including Sen Sushi and The Rainbow Restaurant.

Hot Tomatoes first opened its flagship location on Water Street in Williamstown back in 1994 and opened the second Tyler Street location back in 2008. Hot Tomatoes received a "Best of The Berkshires" recognition four years in a row from 2016 to 2019.
