July 22: Armed Robbery, Attempted Arson, Shooting

On July 22, 2019 at approximately 12:30 AM, the Pittsfield Police Department responded to Alltown located at 90 Tyler Street for a reported armed robbery. The suspect, armed with a handgun, was described as a black male, approximately 5’-10” who left the area on foot. The suspect made away with an undisclosed amount of money.

On July 22, 2019 at approximately 12:56 AM, the Pittsfield Fire and Police Departments responded to 82 Wendell Avenue for a report of a structure fire. The fire was determined to be a small fire on the porch of the dwelling which appeared to be deliberately set. Witnesses observed a male party running from the porch and flee the area on a bicycle, W/B on East Housatonic Street. The male party is described to be mid to late 20’s, wearing dark clothing and a long sleeve t-shirt.

On July 22, 2019 at approximately 1:44 AM, the Pittsfield Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Dewey Avenue and Madison Avenue. Officers located several shell casings at the scene and evidence that an individual(s) may have been injured. One vehicle was also struck by gunfire during the incident. No information was received confirming that an individual was struck by gunfire, and no injured party was located nor reported at any area hospital.
