Live 95.9 Pet of the Week: Cookie
Every Wednesday at 8:30 we're joined by John Perreault, Executive Director of the Berkshire Humane Society to discuss all the happenings at their Barker Road facility, plus talk about their Pet of the Week.
This cutie is Cookie! Cookie is a 1-year-old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix who arrived at Berkshire Humane Society because his owner had too many animals in the home.
Cookie is the pet of the week on Live 95.9
Cookie is a well-adjusted little guy with tons of spunk and sparkle. He’s a “pretty smart cookie” as he picks up on training quickly. Cookie is incredibly food motivated and loves to learn.
He’s working on his house training but he was mostly trained in his prior home, so we’re confident he’ll pick it back up with consistency and structure. Since Cookie’s arrival at the shelter, we noticed he has a bit of a head wobble and sometimes a little instability in his gait.
After examination by our veterinarian, we believe he may have a genetic neurological issue, but outside of monitoring, no medical intervention is necessary. Regardless, he never lets anything slow him down!
Cookie would do best living in a home environment without shared walls since he can be vocal. He should also not live with cats or children under 13 years of age. Cookie could possibly live with another dog pending a successful dog introduction.
For more information on Cookie or how to begin the adoption process, please reach out to Berkshire Humane Society kennel staff at (413)-447-7878 ext. 126
