Man Indicted In Fatal Pittsfield Shooting
A Berkshire County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Lance Burke of the Bronx, New York, for the murder of David Green Jr., of Pittsfield during the morning of Nov. 3, 2018.
Burke is charged with shooting Green in the neck while Green sat in a pickup truck near Spring and Willow streets in Pittsfield, carrying a firearm without a license and carrying a loaded firearm. Green, 30, died in Berkshire Medical Center a few days after he was shot.
“Our office is seeking justice for David Green Jr.,” District Attorney Andrea Harrington said. “I thank the Pittsfield Police Department for performing an investigation that spanned two states, First Assistant District Attorney Karen Bell for presenting the case, and the grand jury for returning an indictment. We look forward to proceeding.”
Burke, 40, is expected to be arraigned in Berkshire County Superior Court next week. He was arrested Nov. 20, 2018, in the Bronx on an outstanding warrant charging him with murder and held without bail.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, including Detective Jeff Arena, and State Police detectives assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office. Members of the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau and Anti-Crime Unit, New York City Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation helped arrest Burke.
