'Tis the season for giving, and another Slater vs. Marjo challenge! This past Sunday, (Dec. 17), between 11a and 1p, Marjo and were simultaneously broadcasting live while collecting "Toys for Tots". The DJ who collected the most toys would win for bragging rights, as usual.

Marjo was stuck out in the cold in front of Walmart in Pittsfield, while I was hanging out in the food court in the Berkshire Mall. It was around noontime when Marjo sent me a photo of her overflowing box of toys plus others on the table. At this point, I started to get nervous, as I had a mere three toys in my box, three!

Little by little, people who heard my cries of desperation live on air, starting showing up at the food court with toys for my box. Parents were bringing their young children, who got a chance to act like Santa Claus for a moment, to do something really, really nice for kids who are less fortunate this year.

With all the negativity in the media lately, we forget that there is far more good than evil in this world. This comes from the Toys for Tots website...

Due to the overwhelming response, we are currently no longer accepting any toy request for this season. Please contact your local non-profit organization to receive toys.
Thank you for your understanding.

As for our little challenge, Marjo collected about 135 toys, and I, 67. A huge shout out and "Thank You" to all who participated, namely, Pittsfield's Marc Wilkinson, who dropped off approximately 50 toys.
