It has been said that low gas prices can be both good and bad for the U.S. economy. While the oil industry provides jobs mainly in the western part of the country, we here in the northeast are loving low gas prices.

Gas dropped another 4 cents this week, making the national average of a regular gallon of gasoline $2.30, according to AAA. Massachusetts' average for regular gas is $2.49, and here in The Berkshires, we average $2.30.

President Trump tweeted on New Year's Day that he expects gas to go even lower in 2019, and said it was similar to another "tax cut".

Motorists often take notice that the Mobil on South St. in Pittsfield usually has the cheapest, "non-member" rate gas, currently at $2.13 as of 1/9/19. Get more Pittsfield gas prices at gasbuddy.com.
