Even though I hate winter more and more these days, Massachusetts is a nice place to live and raise a family. We are number one in health care and education; however, driving, not so much. According to a new article on wallethub.com, Massachusetts ranks seventh worst in the country with Texas being the best.

Our data set ranges from average gas prices to share of rush-hour traffic congestion to road quality.

With gas prices around $2.50, and traffic jams really a non issue in The Berkshires, this leaves road conditions and peoples' attitudes to blame? Oh wait, we must consider the entire state, let's not forget about the eastern part of the state like they forget about us.

The recent fluctuating warm and cold weather has left the streets of Pittsfield a mess, littered with pot holes, not to mention my wallet $300 dollars lighter, (I slammed into a pot hole 2 weeks ago). Maybe if I wasn't such a fast driving "masshole", that wouldn't have happened.
